Performance Review Buffalo CloudStation Pro Duo CS-WV2.0/R1, Large Capacity

This NAS from Buffalo allows a variety Data accessible cloud style. The increasing popularity of cloud storage services makes storage media start adding these features in their products. One of the major networking manufacturers products and storage media presents CloudStation, a product line of network attached storage (NAS) equipped with a cloud storage service. Combination between large capacity NAS with cloud storage flexibility make this NAS looks very interesting.

Buffalo CloudStation Pro Duo CS-WV2.0/R1 comes with a design that could be considered simple. Physical form also fairly compact with size of only about 12.7 x 20.4 x 8.6 cm. This size makes it too takes a lot of places. By this measure, CloudStation Pro Duo CS-WV2.0/R1 can easily be placed anywhere, including in a small room. Most of body parts using a solid plastic material that did not give fragile impression. On the front there is a door which is the exit point of harddrive. NAS Buffalo CloudStation Pro Duo CS-WV2.0/R1 is equipped with Marvell 1.6 GHz processor and 256 MB DDR3 memory. NAS supports SATA II hard drive with an interface as much as two pieces. In addition to 2 TB variant, this CloudStation Pro Duo also available in a capacity 4 TB.

NAS supports only two hard disk configurations, JBOD and RAID1. NAS also supports access to data in the cloud through a portal that has been provided. You just simply access it through a site http://cloudstation.pogoplug.com and do the settings there, without needing to install any application. Its own LAN port totaled as much as one port, and supports a gigabit transfer. USB port on the back used to attach additional storage media (such as an external harddrive and backup to it).

The control panel which is in Buffalo CloudStation CSWV2.0/R1 is quite simple and easy to understand. However, the movement of menu relatively did not go smoothly. Conclusion

Plus: Large capacity, can be upgraded, compact size, performance is pretty fast, feature complete, gigabit LAN, there is a USB port, cloud services.

Minus: The control panel is sometimes unresponsive, not yet support USB 3.0, not have SATA 6 Gbps, without RAID0.
