Cool design, big body
This smartphone comes with a pretty good design concept. Its physical construction looks to emit a premium aura. Both sides, both front, and rear seemed coated with glass material that makes it feel luxurious, but the texture was a little bit slippery to their inner structure, OPPO Reno 10x Zoom has been using a frame made of metal that is strong and resilient.
Compared to the regular Reno series, the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom has a body that is slightly more filled. The body design of this device is indeed not without reason, because the dimensions of the screen used by this device are also a little bigger sure 6.6 inches versus 6.4 inches.
At the front, this device actually has a very wide area of screen. The black part on the edge of the screen is fairly thin. No bangs on this phone. Interestingly, the model of the camera in the Reno Series looks like a shark fin. OPPO calls it Pivot Rising Camera. The camera module with the motor mechanism will appear when users will take selfie photos. For a screen protector, OPPO has instilled a scratch-resistant glass Corning Gorilla Glass 6th generation.
The rear body of the Reno 10x Zoom is rather curved. This design seems deliberately designed to fit with the palm of the hand. In the back, OPPO has a three-camera panel and the OPPO logo and the label “Designed by OPPO” with a vertical model.
One thing that is quite curious is the presence of a small circle that has a green circle, just at the end of the label line under the camera. This small circle is most likely to function to make the rear area not directly touch the flat surface, and at the same time to keep the camera panel from being scratched by rough or sharp objects.
At Reno 10x Zoom, OPPO puts the power button on the right body and volume on the left side. While the SIM card is on the bottom side of the device, next to the USB Type-C port and speaker hole. The model is similar to OPPO Find X, only the formation is inverted. There is no 3.5 mm audio jack port on this device. For the SIM card tray, Reno 10x Zoom uses a hybrid concept. That is, there are only two cards, namely for SIM 1 and SIM 2 doubles as a microSD card slot.
Wide and sharp AMOLED screen
Like OPPO Find X, the Reno 10x Zoom screen also applies the real fullscreen concept. OPPO calls it Panoramic Screen. Through this innovation, the experience of browsing all applications and functions of the mobile phone becomes more maximal. Playing games and watching videos also becomes more exciting.
Based on technical data, OPPO Reno Zoom 10x using AMOLED screen type with 6.6-inch stretch. This screen has a Full HD resolution (2340×1080) with a screen-to-body ratio reaching 93.1%. OPPO claims this technology can reduce battery consumption by up to 8%. For its own screen brightness, AMOLED on this device reaches around 440 nits.
The Reno 10x Zoom screen has also been coated with Corning Gorilla Glass scratch-resistant glass 6. Corning’s latest generation of protective glass is claimed to have very strong durability. When tested, the screen of this device is truly resilient, resistant to stepping on, and resistant to sharp objects. But in its use, it must be careful and well maintained.
Unlike most flagship smartphones that on average offer a large selection of screen mode settings, Reno 10x Zoom OPPO only offers standard settings. There are two options to choose from, Vivid and Gentle (sRGB). For color temperature, there is a choice of Cooler, Default, and Warmer.
Most important of all, this smartphone screen is also equipped with eye-friendly technology that can reduce the effect of the effects of excessive blue light. In the OPPO devices, the technology is called the Night Shield can be set permanently or on-demand by the scheduled time. One more addition, there is also the Low-Brightness Flickr option.
ColorOS 6 dan Under-display Fingerprint
The Reno Series is the first line of OPPO devices that immediately get the latest ColorOS 6 interface touch. The visual appearance of this user interface is more modern and clean. New functions provided by OPPO. Starting from Hyperboost, Game Assistant, Game Space, Cloud Service, Riding mode, Smart Assistant, Notification Bar, Navigation gestures to smart management systems can be used more freely for a maximum user experience.
For security phone, OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is quite varied and certainly has been using the most contemporary technology. Like the R17 Pro, even on this device, OPPO has brought a new touch to the fingerprint scanner sensor. No longer in the form of physical panels on the back of the body, but replaced with under-display fingerprint technology.
This fingerprint sensor has an algorithm that is better than before. The response speed in detecting the user’s fingerprint data has also been increased, based on OPPO records, the increase is up to 28.5%. In fact, the sensor area is 10% wider. Interestingly, the fingerprint icon displayed on the screen can also be customized. Users can set the display as needed.
In addition to the under-display fingerprint and also the conventional password / PIN model, there is still one advanced security system provided by Reno 10x Zoom, Face Unlock. This feature of course utilizes a front camera that looks unique. The face scanner on a smartphone is able to quickly record facial information and characters. When tested, Face Unlock at Reno 10x Zoom can detect faces well and smoothly.
Advanced Camera with 10x Zoom
Previously, OPPO had a line of R Series devices that focused on working on the rear camera capabilities. Now, there is the OPPO Reno Series which is expected to present a new way to use cellphone cameras.
Even the OPPO claims, Reno 10x Zoom is a solution for all-in-one mobile photography by presenting a 48MP main camera, a 120-degree wide-angle camera, and also a telephoto camera with up to 10x magnification. This device carries three cameras. In the main camera, this device is supported by the latest Sony IMX 586 48MP sensor with an F / 1.7 diaphragm, large enough for the size of today’s smartphone camera diaphragm.
Furthermore, OPPO also implements an 8MP camera that comes with a 120-degree wide-angle. This Wide Angle sensor allows users to get very wide shooting angles with minimal distortion. It is suitable for landscape photos.
The next most interesting is the presence of 10x Zoom magnification technology. This technology is the result of the development of the OPPO 5x Lossless Zoom innovation that was introduced at the Mobile World Congress 2017 event. As for the Lossless Zoom 10x technology, OPPO announced it at MWC 2019, Barcelona.
OPPO’s latest innovation utilizes the periscope lens structure as found in submarines. Technically, OPPO stacked five lenses horizontally which were then reflected using a prism to the camera sensor. At Reno 10x Zoom, OPPO implements a telephoto lens with a 13MP sensor on a 6.7 mm thick module.
In the Reno 10x Zoom camera viewfinder, OPPO provides a default zooming option consisting of 1x, 2x, 6x, and 10x. However, optical zoom capabilities that are collaborated with digital zoom on this device can actually be driven up to 60x magnification.
Through the technology brought by OPPO Reno, mobile photography lovers will be able to record valuable moments more optimally. Not only that, but OPPO also embed Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology on this telephoto camera to reduce shocks when taking pictures. Interestingly, OPPO also crammed three focusing technologies on this camera, namely Laser Autofocus, Contrast Autofocus, and Phase Detection Autofocus which allows taking focus images quickly.
For those who like to experiment, the Reno 10x Zoom OPPO camera provides a variety of important features that can be utilized to produce the best photos. Starting from Night mode for low-light photos, Panorama, Time Lapse, Slo-Mo, and even Expert.
Based on technical specifications, Reno 10x Zoom OPPO is also capable of producing 4K videos with a maximum frame rate of 60 fps. The video record from the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom camera looks stable. Even as if using a tripod. The important point is that Reno 10x Zoom technology can reduce the size of 4K video files by 50%, and make Reno 10x Zoom users can share videos on favorite social media platforms much faster.
Unique Pivot Rising Camera
The design concept of the front camera on the Reno 10x Zoom is more unique than the Find X and OPPO F11 Pro. In Reno, OPPO featured a pop-up camera model with a slanted shape. Looks like a shark fin. The term used by OPPO is Pivot Rising Camera.
When not in use, this camera will hide at the top of the device. By using the motor system, the camera module will be pushed upwards when the user will use a selfie camera. For the sensor itself, OPPO inserts a 16 MP camera. In addition, in this part of the shark’s fin, there are also Softlight Front Facing, and Speaker. While on the back of this camera module, a flash LED is placed.
Snapdragon 855 with the Latest Technology
Besides the camera, the chipset is the main advantage of the OPPO Reno Series. In this device, OPPO embeds Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. These chipsets are supported by multi-gigabit 5G technology, advanced AI, and immersive Extended Reality (XR). Snapdragon 855 on this device is built based on the fabrication of the 7nm Qualcomm Kryo 485 CPU which can increase performance by up to 45%.
With the hardware specifications brought by the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom, it is certain that all functions of the cellphone can accelerate well and smoothly. Even for game lovers, of course, all types of games both standard and heavy can be played without lag on the latest OPPO devices.

Large battery with VOOC 3.0
Oppo Reno 10x Zoom comes with large battery support, its capacity reaches 4065 mAH. Big enough for today’s smartphones. For standard and normal use, the battery of this device can last for a full day on a single charge. While for standby alone can be more than three days.
Interestingly, in addition to the large capacity, OPPO Reno 10x Zoom also features fast charging technology most new generation VOOC OPPO 3.0 Flash Charge. This technology has also received TÜV SÜD certification for security. The FCC algorithm that is used is the most recent which is able to shorten charging up to 20 minutes compared to the previous version. This means that with VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom battery can be fully charged in just 80 minutes.
Many surprises were presented by OPPO Reno 10x Zoom. The 10x zoom capability carried by the camera of this device is able to compete with devices of its class. You could even say a little better with the presence of the Pivot Rising Camera. In addition, the support of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and the large battery capacity supported by VOOC 3.0 that is installed in this device is worth considering. A little disadvantage, but still understandable from Reno 10x Zoom is the absence of a 3.5mm audio jack and a rather slippery large body that is characteristic of premium smartphones.
- Triple Camera with 10x zoom
- Unique selfie camera
- Under-display fingerprint
- NFC (Near Field Communication)
- There is no 3.5 mm audio jack
- Does not support wireless charging
- Without IP certification
- Big and rather heavy body
