The Dell XPS 14z Review. If a lot of people believe laptop 13″ more attractive and mobile, Dell products this time will change that opinion. When a notebook with a 13″ screen emerged, many consumers are happy with size and computer weights that are lighter than 14″ models. Although it maybe differs only 1″, the effect really not bad.
Rather than just presenting ordinary laptop size 13.3″, Dell offers a more attractive by projecting the notebook with 14″ screen size, with 13″ dimensions compact. Through XPS 14z this concept revealed. How could that be?
Judging from its size, the XPS 14z which was introduced in February, this seems like a laptop 13.3″ normal screen size. But when the cover opened, we realized that the screen still using 14″ size. How is this possible?
Seems Dell designer cut screen frame (bezel) remaining on the left and right become so narrow aka almost without bezel. Materials cover wrapping aluminum frame combined with chrome on the body and touchpad make it look fancy.
Switches to the control and button, chiclet-style keyboard looks nice and comfortable pressed. Cool again, the keyboard is apparently anti-spill water. The keyboard also features lighting (backlit) that enable seen even dark. Kindly, just press Fn + F6 key combination to activate it. Area wide touchpad with soft keys also be a thing enjoyable.
Because intended for general activity, the Dell XPS 14z apparently not fill with lots of input-output ports. In addition to DisplayPort and HDMI connection, there are only 2 USB ports and a LAN. One USB port is USB 3.0. However, because the port is not given a distinctive blue color, it would be difficult to recognize when a cursory look. The position of USB 3.0 port is located exactly next to RJ-45 network port marked SS (SuperSpeed).
Because customized for professional users, the XPS 14z embedded with considerable performance specifications such as processor Core i7-2640 2.8 GHz, up to 8 GB RAM and 750 GB hard drive. Chip graphic is powered by GeForce GT 520M. Indeed, this chip is not fast enough, but definitely better rather than onboard Intel HD3000 chip. Through hardware mixing is expected to process multimedia computing for middle-office and can run smoothly.
Packaging XPS 14z looks elegant and different which is more suited for professionals who require a robust computing power. The principal advantage of this laptop exist in a more compact design for size 14″ without compromising fashion sense.
Test Results
With a CPU clock slightly higher, pretty easy for XPS 14z to reach higher scores than ThinkPad Edge E420. But because Edge E420 Radeon brings HD6630 graphics are better, its 3D performance somewhat better. Battery life on XPS 14z also not ideal for long-lasting.
